TaeKwon-Do is a Korean Martial Art, founded by Grand Master, General Choi Hong-Hi 9th Degree on 11th April 1955.
On 22nd March 1966 the International TaeKwon-Do federation (ITF) was in Seoul, South Korea.
Taekwon-do is a form of martial arts. It has an enormous capacity to improve physical and mental wellbeing. Through regular training students will develop:
Tae - To Jump or Kick with the Foot, Kwon - To Punch or Destroy with the Hand or Fist & Do - Art, Way or Method.
At Bracknell TaeKwon-Do we are affiliated to the ITF (International TaeKwon-Do Federation) and as such teach the FULL syllabus of TaeKwon-Do, not just the kicks famed by other methods.
The Full Syllabus includes Kicking, Punching & Self Defence techniques & cannot be learnt from watching videos or online learning alone. It requires expert correction & tutelage.
Bracknell Taekwon-Do provides a friendly, dynamic learning environment for students from 5+ to learn a new skill. Give your children the opportunity to forge new friendships, develop a skill in self defence and achieve recognised accolades.
I have been training in TaeKwon-do for over 35 years. During this time I have trained under Grand Master Brown, since he was a 2nd Degree in the Bracknell school, which was then in Moordale Avenue and have enormous respect for him. I have also been taught by other expert instructors such as Mr Alan Liu & Mr Hay Harris (RAF).
This training has resulted in me winning Gold medals at many different championship levels (including Black Belt). I have also participated at several international seminars. So, I have a lot of experience & knowledge to pass forward.
Considered as a fun instructor, I am able to teach at all levels including students with learning difficulties (SEND Teaching). I have a keen emphasis on the Tenants of TaeKwon-do (Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control & Indomitable Spirit) & Self Defence.
This means that our classes are fun & hard work with a great feeling of achievement at the end. Get in touch now to get involved!
All Bracknell TKD instructors are Insured, First Aid Trained and undergo a criminal record check with the Disclosure and Barring Service DBS (formerly known as the CRB check). This is in line with the policy of the British Taekwon-Do Council and UK Sport.
